Roller Fire Shutter
A robust commercial-grade product designed for any openings, available with the highest possible fire ratings.
What are roller fire shutters?
Roller fire shutters are a fire safety feature installed in openings that require protection. During a fire, they add a critical layer of defence by slowing the spread of smoke and flame—helping contain a fire to its area of origin, protecting neighbouring units and properties, and keeping exits and passageways clear for occupants.
Originally common in commercial buildings, fire shutters are increasingly used in residential and multi-dwelling properties as part of a broader push toward more effective fire protection. They let an opening meet its required fire rating while remaining fully usable and accessible day to day, and many models can double as a locking security shutter.

How do they work?
The most common trigger is a metal fusible link installed at the opening. At the onset of a fire, heat melts the link, releasing the slats coiled in the overhead box so the shutter rolls down under its own weight and seals the opening. Because no power or external input is needed, the shutter is fully self-contained and mechanical—it works even in a power failure. For added integration, shutters can also be tied into a building's fire alarm system or fitted with a built-in smoke or heat detector that drops the shutter automatically.
