Fire Shutter Testing

Fire shutter drop testing will give you the peace of mind that your fire shutters will perform as designed when needed while also meeting your fire code testing requirements.

What is a  drop test?

A fire shutter drop test is a simulated release of the fire shutter to verify it is in proper operation condition and able to act as a fire barrier. This involves inspecting various components of the fire shutter, including the fusible link trigger, release arm, mechanism, etc. Subsequently, a drop of the fire shutter's curtain is conducted to verify that the shutter seals properly in the event of a real fire.

Why test your fire shutters?

Per fire code, an annual drop test is required for all fire shutters. Similar to the checks and tests of other fire safety equipment in a building, the drop test is an integral part of a complete fire safety strategy. This insures best practices are upheld, products are operating as designed, and the peace of mind of all occupants and owners is maintained.
